Community Guidelines
These guidelines exist to keep Tarok Online a fair, friendly, and enjoyable place for everyone — in games with real players, clubs, chat, and video calls. By using the platform you are solely responsible for your own conduct and interactions with others.
1. Respect & Sportsmanship
Treat every player with respect, whether you win or lose. Good sportsmanship is the foundation of our community. The same applies to spectators watching a game.
The platform is intended for users aged 16 or older. We do not knowingly create accounts for users below this age. If you are a parent or guardian and believe a minor has created an account without your consent, please email hello@tarokonline.com.
2. Prohibited Behaviour
The following are not tolerated:
- Harassment, hate speech, discrimination, or threats of any kind.
- Insulting or belittling other players.
- Sharing personal information about others without consent.
- Impersonating Tarok Online staff or other players.
- Sexual, violent, or otherwise inappropriate usernames, display names, or profile pictures.
3. Fair Play
- Cheating, third-party helper software, or automation are strictly forbidden. Platform AI bots are only permitted in official practice games provided by Tarok Online.
- In competitive games, do not share hidden card information or illegally coordinate with your partner via chat, voice, video, or external apps.
- Do not intentionally abandon games or stall to harm opponents.
- Win-trading, rating manipulation, or exploiting bugs for competitive advantage is prohibited.
- Creating multiple accounts (smurfing) to circumvent bans or manipulate rankings is not allowed.
4. Communication
These rules apply to all communication on the platform:
- In-game chat, club chat, and message reactions.
- In-game video and voice calls.
Keep communication respectful and relevant. Do not post unlawful, harmful, or offensive content. Spamming or flooding chat is not permitted. Do not record or share audio, video, or screenshots of other players without their consent. Tarok Online does not store audio or video from calls.
Clubs are group communities. Club admins should maintain a welcoming environment and must not abuse their role to exclude or harass players.
5. Consequences
Violations are handled with graduated enforcement:
- First offence: warning.
- Repeated or moderate offences: temporary chat mute, temporary video-call restriction, or game suspension.
- Serious or persistent offences: permanent account ban.
The severity of the response depends on the nature and frequency of the violation.
When we take a moderation action against your account or content (mute, call restriction, temporary or permanent ban, content removal) we notify you by email with a clear statement of reasons — the facts we relied on, the type and scope of the restriction, and whether automated means were used. Moderation decisions are made by our team after human review; we do not use automated content-detection tools. You may appeal within 14 days by replying to that email or writing to hello@tarokonline.com. We will review the appeal and respond within a reasonable time.
6. Reporting & Safety
To report inappropriate or illegal behaviour, content, or accounts, email hello@tarokonline.com with the subject “Content report”. This is our designated notice-and-action channel under the EU Digital Services Act (DSA). Please include:
- who (the handle or player ID, club, or message),
- what (a description of the behaviour or content),
- where and when it happened (as precisely as possible),
- why you believe it violates these guidelines or the law,
- any screenshots or other evidence.
We confirm receipt of your report by email without undue delay and, once we have assessed it, email you our decision and how you can challenge it. We review every report, handle it confidentially, and respond to the reporter. Deliberately false or malicious reports are themselves a violation. General product feedback can still be submitted through the Feedback link.
PRO subscribers can block players from joining their games. Blocking is a personal tool — it does not replace reporting serious violations.
Point of contact under the EU Digital Services Act: hello@tarokonline.com is our single point of contact for users (Art. 12) and for Member State authorities, the European Commission, and the European Board for Digital Services (Art. 11). We communicate in Slovenian and English.
7. Your Responsibility
You use the platform at your own risk. You are solely responsible for your behaviour, the content you post, and your interactions with other players — including in chat, clubs, and video calls. Tarok Online is not liable for the actions, content, or conduct of any user. We may take moderation action, but we are not obligated to monitor all activity and we do not guarantee a safe or error-free environment.
These guidelines do not create any additional duty of care on Tarok Online beyond what is required by applicable law. For legal terms of use, see our Terms of Use.
Together we keep Tarok Online a welcoming community.
