Cookie Policy

This document explains which cookies and similar technologies we use on tarokonline.com, why we use them, and how you can manage your consent. You are solely responsible for your cookie choices and their consequences.

1. What are cookies

Cookies are small text files stored in your browser when you visit a website. In this policy the term “cookies” also covers other forms of browser storage (localStorage, sessionStorage), because the same rules on consent and transparency apply to them.

Browser storage (localStorage)

In addition to cookies, we use localStorage for data that must survive a page refresh — e.g. AI game state.

• tarok-game-storage — Reconnection state (gameId, currentUserId).
• local-game-state:* — Single-player game state against AI.
• local-game:* — Single-player game metadata.
• club-join-pending:* — Pending club-join intent across the sign-in redirect.
• tarok:micId / tarok:cameraId / tarok:audioSinkId — Remembered microphone, camera, and speaker choices for calls.
• tarok:tab-session — Marks a single active tab for the realtime connection (sessionStorage).

3. Analytics

Active only with your explicit consent. Without consent, Google Analytics is not loaded and no analytics cookie is set.

If you accept analytics, we use Google Analytics for anonymised usage statistics. This helps us understand which features are useful and where problems exist.

4. Managing your consent

Your choice is stored in the tarok-cookie-consent cookie and is valid for 6 months, or until a material change to this policy.

5. Third-party services

When you sign in with Google or Facebook, or pay with Stripe, those providers set their own cookies on their domains under their own privacy and cookie policies — Tarok Online is not liable for their use of your data. These cookies are only set if you explicitly choose their service (clicking “Continue with Google”, “Pay”, etc.).

6. Policy changes

For material changes to this policy (for example, adding a new cookie category) we will re-request your consent. Minor changes are indicated by an updated date at the top of the page.

7. Disclaimer

The information in this policy is provided for informational purposes. You are solely responsible for managing cookies and browser storage and for choosing whether to accept analytics cookies. Tarok Online is not liable for third-party cookies or tracking, for data loss in your browser, or for the consequences of your consent settings — to the fullest extent permitted by applicable law. Nothing in this policy limits any mandatory right you have under data-protection or consumer law that cannot be excluded.
